Next Monday, April 15, registrations will open to participate in the next Winter 2024, which will be held from November 29 to December 7, 2024, the itinerary will feature stages in the middle of the desert.
The spirit of the recently completed Spring 2024 will be maintained, with tweaks to improve the course and maintain the lust for adventure that characterises the Maroc Challenge.
To make sure you don’t miss this exciting experience, put the date in your diaries and share with your friends that from the 15th of April registrations to participate in the Winter 2024 will be open. The event will include even more excitement and many new features, aiming to continue on the road of establishing the Maroc as one of the benchmark amateur events held in Morocco.
Er-Rachidia will once again be the departure point and also host the verifications following the link from Nador. The event, which consists of six stages, will then move on to Erfoud, Zagora, Mrimina, M’hamid, back to Erfoud and finally the last waypoint stage will take us to Merzouga, where it will finish next to Lake Yasmina and Erg Chebbi. The traditional bivouac will be located at the end of the third stage in Mrimina, even further south than Tissint.
The plan for the next edition is desert from the very first day, featuring sand routes and stages with practically no links, mainly avoiding road sections. The route will be similar in terms of stage finishes to that of the Spring 2024, but many routes will be renewed and we will seek to avoid some of the stony areas of the previous edition. The intention is for it to be one of the most adventurous, challenging and desert oriented editions of any Maroc Challenge, although as is logical and standard in this event, the difficulties will be tailored to the different categories.
