The Winter 2024 edition, taking place from November 30 to December 7, 2024, will begin with administrative and technical checks in Er-Rachidia. On Saturday, December 1, the 22nd edition of the Maroc Challenge will officially kick off, marking the start of a challenging and intense week, featuring six stages packed with unforgettable adventures.
The Maroc Challenge continues to solidify its reputation as one of the leading amateur rallies. This edition introduces a completely revamped route compared to previous editions, designed to deliver even more excitement and ensure participants enjoy an unparalleled experience.
The Winter 2024 challenge starts in Er-Rachidia and promises to be one of the toughest editions ever. The rally will conclude in Merzouga, at the foot of the iconic Erg Chebbi dunes. Starting from Er-Rachidia has allowed for a route deeply immersed in the desert, with sandy terrain dominating every stage from start to finish.
The Maroc Challenge will venture further south than ever before, with the traditional bivouac set in Mrimina, near Tissint, halfway between Zagora and Guelmin. This decision will allow participants to explore new desert areas, maintaining the spirit of making each edition increasingly exciting and engaging.
The adventure kicks off in Er-Rachidia, heading towards Erfoud and Zagora, the capital of the Draa Valley. From Zagora, the route continues southward to Tissint. From the Mrimina camp, the rally turns northward to M’Hamid, passing through Lake Iriki and the Chegaga dunes. From M’Hamid, the route moves back to Erfoud, culminating in the traditional waypoint stage that leads to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Without a doubt, this will be one of the most adventurous, challenging, and desert-focused editions of the Maroc Challenge. As always, the difficulty level will be adapted to the different categories, ensuring all participants can fully enjoy this extraordinary experience.
