Jumilla will host the departure of the Maroc Challenge for the sixth time, starting November 29th and running till December 7th. The Murcian city, well known for its quality wines, will host the official departure headquarters for the next winter edition and will be the meeting point for the rally on November 29th and 30th.

Participants will start arriving in Jumilla on Friday, November 29th, when the technical and administrative checks will be carried out. The official departure will start at 09.00 am on Saturday from the Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola. Jumilla’s enthusiastic followers have prepared various events to celebrate the passage of the event through the city.  The departure has had to bring its schedule forward compared to previous editions because boarding, in the port of Motril, is scheduled at 15.30.

The event was presented this Friday in the City Council press room and the act was presided over by the mayor, Juana Guardiola, along with the Sports Councilor, José Antonio Jiménez, the Maroc Challenge briefingman, Rui Cabaço, the head of assistance, Julio Tomás, as well as Antonio Tárraga, representing club 4-4 Montesinos, which is the alma mater of the departure organisation.

Both the mayor, Juana Guardiola, and the sports councilor, José Antonio Jiménez, have highlighted “the importance that this race has chosen Jumilla as its starting point for the sixth time”. Rui Cabaço has expressed his satisfaction with the “media impact of the event, which is continually increasing on an international level”. For his part, Julio Tomás has pointed out that “more and more technical means are used in order to make the participants increasingly comfortable and safe”, while Antonio Tárraga has indicated that “it is a source of great pride to see the race returning to Jumilla”
